I just love going to the Island of Lana’i!

Approaching the Island of Lana’i, Hawaii.

My most recent excursion over to Lana’i a couple of weeks ago was with the Pacific Whale Foundation. PWF has many different boats and this time I chose the large double deck catamaran with Snorkeling, Dolphin watching, BBQ Lunch and Cocktails. Pacific Whale Foundation’s Lana’i Snorkel Tour also has the best price.

Check in is Lahaina behind the famous Banyan Tree Park. Once on board and having found our seats, we were on the lookout for Spinner Dolphins, Turtles and Flying Fish! The crew brought refreshments to our table while we were relaxing and enjoying the views… it was a beautiful day on the ocean!

I have taken Pacific Whale Foundation’s Lanai’ Snorkel excursion several times and I was happy to see we were headed for “Sharks Fin Rock”, a rock formation set off shore in the shape of a Sharks ‘fin’. ‘Sharks Fin Cove’ is a gorgeous and remote snorkel destination that is accessible only by boat. The shoreline along the private Island of Lana’i has a lot of fantastic lava rock formations from “Sweetheart Rock” to “Five Needles” and more…

The water when we were snorkeling was so clear! We had a fantastic morning relaxing, snorkeling and simply enjoying the fabulous views…

The double-deck catamarans are not only a great value for families, they have large loading platforms for easy water entry.  Lunch was BBQ Burgers, Hotdogs and Chicken with Salads and pretzels.

The trip back across the channel was very exhilarating and the crew was playing fun music on the entertainment system. We were back on Maui by 1PM with plenty of time left to enjoy the rest of the day.

Pacific Whale Foundations Lana’i Snorkel tour is a great value for families, couples and/or large groups. Children under the age of 12 go free with a paying adult! A family of 4 can enjoy this fabulous snorkeling tour to Lana’i for less than $190.00 including taxes and fees,  a fraction of the price of the competition.
