There are an array of amazing family snorkeling tours on Maui. But, Four Winds has something for everyone. They offer a morning trip that leaves at 7:30am and returns at 12:30 pm, and an afternoon trip that leaves at 1:30pm and returns at 5:00pm.

Our family and friends were looking for a nice snorkel trip that we could take the whole family on. Our group of 10 people included elderly, adults, and children from 10 months-16 years old. We decided on Four Winds II because we thought that the glass bottom viewing room with seating was an ideal spot for Grandma and baby to view the colorful underwater fish. It was a great idea! We chose the afternoon trip because it worked out for everyone’s schedule, and were told that the afternoon trip does not always go over to Molokini because of the trade winds and water conditions. During the afternoons, this Maui family snorkeling tour usually goes to Coral Gardens where they are protected from the winds. But, to our surprise, we were able to go to the Molokini Crater after all due to extremely calm conditions!

Captain Dan was so awesome; not only did he make the trip fun, but he is filled with information about whales and the Hawaiian Islands. It was super cool to hear about the “old road” that was visible from the water… We had a great time, and saw some beautiful tropical fish. Other guests saw a couple of turtles, but we missed them. The waterslide was a blast for the older kids, and the food was really good. You could smell the food cooking while snorkeling in the water, and the tour offers all you can drink beer and wine. We saw over fifteen Humpback Whales which made the trip worth it all alone… Some of the whales came right next to the boat!

Bottom line, this Maui snorkel tour was a great experience, with great people, and a great crew. Also, it was very reasonably priced for under $60.00 per person. In fact, if we have time, we want to going again!
