Shortly after that, you will be on your way to the Haleakala Crater, 6,500 feet above sea level.
Sunrise is amazing, almost spiritual!
After you have taken pictures of this fabulous landscape, and of the sunrise, you will be escorted down in the van to the 6,500 ft. level. Here you begin your GUIDED Volcano bike ride. You will ride 23 miles down the mountain back to the store location in Haiku. Pickup at your resort is part of this tour.
On your way down, you will pass through the fun little cowboy town of Makawao. Stop and have breakfast at one of the many fun eateries.
Included is all the gear you need: Chrome cruiser bikes, helmets, windbreaker outfits, and gloves. Dress in layers, as the climate will change as you come down the mountain. This Sunrise Bike Tour is one of the longest bike tours on Maui. Also, there will be plenty of opportunity for beautiful photos. This is an awesome adventure .
After viewing the crater they will bring you down to the 6500-foot level
Per Maui County law, bike riding is not allowed through the Kula community. Just before entering the residential area of Kula, we’ll board the vehicle and transport guests through Kula. You’ll gain insights into the local culture and enjoy the tranquility of rural Maui on the drive.
Bike Ride Resumes
Your biking adventure continues in the beautiful area of Olinda, riding past Haleakala Ranch, Oskie Rice Rodeo, and Kaonoulu Ranch, and through the paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao.
