Yee’s Orchard and Farmers’ Market has been famous for many years for their Peacocks.

One of the fun quirks of living in Kihei, is passing by Yee’s Mango Orchard and Farm Stand, and stopping to let the Peacocks cross So. Kihei Rd.!

Yees Orchard and Coffee Stand

I used to live nearby and as I opened my front door in the mornings, I would see several pretty Peacocks wandering around the yard.

Male Peacocks are the colorful birds with the big pretty feathers we all love to see.  Female Peacocks are more beige in color. It is the male of the species that is looking to attract the females…

Yee’s Mango Orchard specializes in Golden Glow Mangos! You can smell the mango trees when they are in Season…

The Golden Glow Mango Orchard sits on 20 acres that stretch from So. Kihei Rd. (adjacent to Azeka’s Shopping Center-mauka) up to Liloa St where Safeway is.  Open hours are a bit weird: Daily from 11-5 PM except Mondays & Fridays and any other time they like close. They have been more consistent lately in being open, especially with the new decor and out-door Coffee Cafe.

BOP Out-door Coffee Cafe

Are you looking for a good cup of Coffee or Iced Coffee in Kihei? There is a quaint new road-side Coffee stand at Yee’s.

Recently Yee’s has added on a Coffee Stand run by a gentleman who’s name i am sorry to say I forgot to write down. He is very excited about his Coffee and wants to name it BOP Cafe. I did ask what BOP stood for and he said “Bird of Paradise”, which I assume he means the Peacocks as there are no Bird of Paradise Flowers growing on property that i saw.

I did see a Goose walk by…

Either way, stop in for an iced coffee if you are driving by. BOP is adding more choices daily, like the Coconut Milk. You can also buy Organic Hawaiian Honey and a few other local delicacies while you are there.

In the evenings the Peacocks have been spotted many times, on the grass next door at Azeka’s Shopping Center.

Mahalo (thank you) for reading my blog post on the Peacocks and new coffee Stand at Yee’s Orchard and Farm Stand.

Aloha
