Bike Down Haleakala Day Tour Guided
The adventure of biking down Haleakala for a day trip is above the clouds. You will take in awe-inspiring views from the rim of Haleakala’s massive volcanic crater. Your tour guide will then drive you down to the 6500-foot level. After a safety orientation and bike/gear fitting, you’re ready to roll—down the planet’s grandest coaster—through over 200 twists and turns and countless visual wonders. There are many stops along the way to view and photograph the incredible scenery and learn about Haleakala’s history and lore. This is a day trip, not sunrise
This is the bike ride of your lifetime, we had a blast! Cruising down through Kula, Makawao, and Haiku You still want to dress in layers and wear tennis shoes and socks as it is cold on top of the Volcano! Don’t forget your sunglasses and camera too!
After viewing the crater they will bring you down to the 6500-foot level
Per Maui County law, bike riding is not allowed through the Kula community. Just before entering the residential area of Kula, we’ll board the vehicle and transport guests through Kula. You’ll gain insights into the local culture and enjoy the tranquility of rural Maui on the drive.
Bike Ride Resumes
Your biking adventure continues in the beautiful area of Olinda, riding past Haleakala Ranch, Oskie Rice Rodeo, and Kaonoulu Ranch, and through the paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao. Continue riding your bike down to the historic North Shore town of Haiku where our shop is located, and the bike ride concludes.

Rider Requirements:
- Minimum height – 4’10”
- Minimum age – 12 years
- No complete beginners
- No expectant mothers
Day of Tour
Weather conditions on Haleakala can be unpredictable. Occasionally, Mother Nature decides she’d like Haleakala to herself for the day; in which case we’ll notify you to reschedule your tour.
If they cancel your tour before pick-up or entry into the Haleakala National Park, you will receive a full refund.
If they cancel the bicycling portion of your tour after entry into Haleakala National Park, you will receive a van tour and a 50% refund.
Maui Mountain Cruisers does not issue refunds for those who opt out of the bicycling portion of a tour of their own volition.
Maui Sights & Treasures Cancellation Policy:
NO refunds or changes within 48 hours of activity unless otherwise stated. A 10% cancellation fee will be applied to all cancellations made outside of 48 hours of the activity.
